We gave our logo design a little kick in the ass and it seems to have gotten its shit together quite nicely. You go, logo!
We’ll be rolling out a bunch of new merch over the next few weeks bearing the new brand. First up, a t-shirt, now on sale. Stay tuned for a new vinyl decal, a hat, and…ah, we can’t wait for this one….a monstrously hip hip-flask.
Oh yeah…..and we’ve got some new blade designs, too. First announcement on Thursday.
Posted by Zombie Tools on May 16 2012What kind of punishment can the Deuce take? A few weeks ago we put the blade through a series of torture tests with the goal of breaking the thing. We cut phonebooks, a wood pallet, a hockey table, a truck hood, a bike frame, some cinder blocks, and then did a number of bend tests. The Deuce finally met its end on a reinforced concrete highway divider. This video contains some of the best clips from the tests.
And if you missed our video of Max cutting 24 PBR cans with an Apokatana, well, here goes…

We’ve been in an experimental mood around the shop lately. We’ve been playing with new bevel grinds, trying new processes, and even drinking new beers.
In our last production run we thought we’d see what the Apokatana and Deuce looked like with a hammer-textured finish like that on the Backwoods Bone Machete, rather than our spattered acid etch finish. We like the results.
The blade profile and balance on these blades are very similar to our smooth finished blades, but with slightly more beef in the spine, and slightly more length (about an inch), due to the extra hammering. If anyone is interested in owning these unique pieces, they’re for sale to the first email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). They’re going for the regular price of $329.95 for the Apokatana and $349.95 for the Deuce.
We also have a slightly modified D’Capitan. The modification is a 3 inch shortening of the handguard due to an accident while shaping the handle. We’re knocking down the price to $275.
UPDATE 8-9-11: All blades are sold. Thanks for the feedback and the support!

Four feet long, a double-edged blade, and a chisel tip that pines to pierce. Introducing the Spit, the latest addition to the ZT arsenal. Modeled after the Iklwa, a weapon of the Zulus in southern Africa, she’s one of the most versatile blades we’ve come up with yet.
It took us 8 months to finally figure this girl out, but we’re glad we stuck with it. She’s a new shop favorite, and a favorite of folks we showed it to at the recent CombatCon in Vegas.
More new blades on the way in the coming month. We’re giving the D’Capitan a facelift (so if you like the current style, you better order up pretty quick) and we’re giving the Vakra a big sister. More news in the next few weeks.
Keep it tight!
Posted by Zombie Tools on Jul 6 2011How could we pass up this up? A weekend of drinking, gambling, and swordfighting in Sin City? Oh, hell yes.
ZT will be heading to the first CombatCon at the Tuscany Hotel in Las Vegas, June 24 - 26. We, along with half a dozen other bladesmiths, will have a booth with our blades. We’ll be hanging out with blade combat instructors, Hollywood fight choreographers, and swordsmen of all stripes. We’ll be fighting rapier and doing some test cutting. And we will, if history is any guide, not remember a whole lot of it.
If you’re in the area, swing by and check out our stuff. If you plan on coming, use the promo code “ZOMBIEZRCOMING” when you register and get 10% off the ticket price at http://thecombatcon.com/.

Spring has finally broken winter’s miserable back in Montana and the ZT crew is high on fire. We’re rolling out a bunch of new stuff this spring and we’re kicking it off with a new ZT brand tshirt—A Fist Full of Fuck Yeah.
This is a two-color, one-sided design screened onto soft preshrunk spun cotton by our friends at Zoo City Apparel, a Missoula screen printing shop. They’re also helping us out with hoodies. In a couple days we’ll roll out a Zombie Che “Fuck the Revolution” hoodie, and in a few weeks we’ll start introducing several new blade designs.
