We don’t let a Halloween go by without an annual pumpkin slaughterfest. This year we took some video and cut it together for your amusement. Enjoy!Posted by Zombie Tools on Sep 5 2013
Just a few quick updates as we head into the depths of summer….
First, the final of the first three Xiphos blades is now on Ebay here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271231719324
The auction closes on Wednesday night.
Our next blade release will be our boarding/throwing ax, the Traumahawk. We have high hopes for our next prototype, and if all goes well, we’ll release it at the end of July.
Next, we have a few upcoming blade retirements. The Spit will end its long run on July 15. If you’ve been itching for a 4-foot sword/spear, get it on order soon.
We’ll also be suspending the Ferrous Wolf at the same time. The Wolf takes a long time to make, and we need to create some room in the production schedule to get caught up on the backlog (and spend time developing the Wolf’s big brother). If you want a Ferrous Wolf before Christmas, get it on order in the next two weeks.
And that’s the news from the Pirate Shop Apocalax. Keep it tight!Posted by Zombie Tools on Jul 3 2013
The first of three Xiphoses are going to the highest bidder
We’ve launched our next new blade, the Zombie Tools Xiphos, and are auctioning the first three production blades that we’ve made. These three special edition blades have an engraving of the word “Xiphos” in Greek and are available for immediate shipping to the winners of the auctions.
The first blade has sold. The listing is here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271228894358
The second has sold: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271230347625
The final blade is now up for auction here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271231719324Posted by Zombie Tools on Jun 24 2013
Zombie Tool’s Surviving Zombies, which originally aired on the Science Channel, is showing on the Discovery Channel tonight.
Our short-lived TV show, Surviving Zombies, will be airing again on Saturday, this time on the Discovery Channel. The two episodes will air at 9pm and 11pm Eastern. Watch Max, Joey and Chris make asses of themselves while Missoula burns in special effects glory!
These two episodes are the only episodes that will be made. While the network had interest in making more, we had to make the choice between shutting down our business to spend our time as jerkoffs on TV, and continuing to be jerkoffs making blades and growing our business. The decision was pretty easy: We’d rather make blades.
Have a great weekend!Posted by Zombie Tools on May 18 2013
Here are the first 4 prototypes of an ax that we’ve been working on for way too long. We tested our most recent prototypes (the smaller, vulture-headed ones) this weekend and think we’re getting closer. Prototype #5 will be slightly longer in the handle and slightly bigger in the head.
WE HAVE NO IDEA WHEN AN AX WILL BE READY FOR SALE. Probably late in the summer. We’ll announce more news on our Facebook page, so follow us there if you want to be kept up-to-date.
Why has it taken us so long? Well, first, we’ve been really busy making your blades and training new guys in the shop so that we can get our wait time down. But the main challenge has been to create a truly versatile combat ax that will excel for fighting, utility chopping and throwing, all with our traditional full tang design. The full tang has made weight and balance a bitch. But, we’ve made progress.
More news when we have it.Posted by Zombie Tools on May 1 2013
Nothing says “I really give a shit about your goofy ass—don’t die!” like the steely gift of ZT zombie defense. Now you can give your favorite zak-killer his or her choice of blade with a ZT gift certificate. Available now and here: http://zombietools.net/t_shirts_plus/
And a relevant reminder: with our 7- to 8-week turnaround time on blade orders, we’ll be cutting off Christmas blade orders really early this year—probably sometime in late October. If you want to give a blade this year, get your orders in now. Otherwise, we can get you a gift certificate as late as Dec 17.Posted by Zombie Tools on Oct 5 2012
Here’s a short clip of Joey showing off his one-handed skills with the Zakasushi, which, for its speed, size, and balance, has become one of our favorite blades.
